How Page Extraction Works Under the Hood
A PDF is a container of independent page objects plus shared resources (fonts, images) they reference. Splitting copies the selected page objects — along with every font and image those pages use — into a fresh document. This is why extraction is lossless: text stays selectable text, vector graphics stay vectors, nothing is rasterized or recompressed. It's also why a one-page extract can occasionally be larger than expected — if that page uses an embedded font, the font travels with it.

Does splitting reduce quality?
No — pages are copied, not re-rendered. Text, images, and vector content in the output are bit-for-bit equivalent to the source.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
Encrypted PDFs must be unlocked first — open the file with its password in any PDF reader and print/save an unlocked copy, then split that. The tool won't bypass protection, by design.
What's the maximum file size?
Documents up to a few hundred megabytes work in a modern browser; the practical ceiling is your device's memory. Thousand-page documents split fine — processing time grows with page count, not just file size.
Can I extract non-consecutive pages, like 2, 5, and 9?
